EAST LONDON MASSEUR JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON ACTRESS
The offender, Sundaralingam Koodalingam, a 36-year-old man from Ruskin Avenue in Manor Park, east London, was convicted by a jury of two charges of sexual assault.The incident took place on March 29, 2023, when he was working at the Rupert Jade Thai massage parlour for the first time.
During the assault, he asked the victim to strip down to just her underwear and a towel before subjecting her to a series of sexual assaults on the treatment table, including touching her intimately and groping her breasts and nipples.
The victim, a famous actress whose identity is protected, described the ordeal as 'frightening and terrifying' and said it was a violation.
She penned a powerful statement in court, expressing her devastation and anger, stating that the assault has fundamentally changed her, causing panic attacks and a loss of trust.
She described how she initially responded with joked and felt insecure and vulnerable afterward, with her professional and personal life profoundly impacted.
Koodalingam, who moved to the UK in 2021 with a visa sponsored by a company based in the Cotswolds, claimed during the trial that the actress had fabricated the allegations.
Nevertheless, he was sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of sexual assault by penetration and sexual assault.
He continues to protest his innocence at sentencing and faces serving two-thirds of his prison term while on bail during proceedings.
