STUART PEARSON FROM LIVERPOOL AND MANCHESTER CAUGHT IN PAEDOPHILE PLOT
In a disturbing case that highlights the dangers of online grooming and predatory behavior, Stuart Pearson, a 37-year-old man with ties to Liverpool and Manchester, found himself facing serious legal consequences after attempting to engage in inappropriate communication with a minor.The incident unfolded over a period of ten days, during which Pearson actively sought to establish a sexualized connection with a girl he believed to be just 13 years old.
According to court records, Pearson initially contacted the girl, known by the pseudonym 'Ava,' through Facebook Messenger between October 23, 2019, and November 3, 2019.
Unbeknownst to him, the account he was communicating with was a decoy profile created by members of the paedophile hunter group, Stop.
The group had set up the profile under the name 'Ava' to catch individuals attempting to exploit minors online.
Pearson, under the alias 'Stuart 35,' engaged in conversations that quickly turned inappropriate and sexually explicit.
Prosecutor Robert Wyn Jones detailed the exchanges, revealing that Pearson suggested moving their conversation to WhatsApp, a messaging platform often used for more private communication.
During these exchanges, he asked the girl about her underwear and body hair, making lewd comments and inquiries.
Pearson explicitly expressed a desire to have a romantic shower with her and suggested they keep their conversations secret.
He also asked her about the color of her underwear, claiming he could help her romantically and even expressed a willingness to kiss her entire body.
Further into the conversation, Pearson discussed her bra and proposed the idea of showering together in a romantic manner.
He also talked about making love with what he believed was a 13-year-old girl, revealing his disturbing intentions.
The group of paedophile hunters confronted Pearson in Liverpool on November 3, 2019, and he was arrested at approximately 8 pm that evening.
During the court proceedings, Pearson’s defense lawyer, Kevin Batch, described him as a man of good character who had acknowledged his wrongdoing.
However, the judge, Recorder Ian Unsworth, QC, emphasized the persistent and lewd nature of Pearson’s suggestions, condemning his actions.
Stuart Pearson, who now resides on Wykeham Street in Manchester, was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for 18 months.
He was also ordered to complete the Horizon program, undertake 10 Rehabilitation Activity Requirements, and perform 200 hours of unpaid work.
Additionally, he is required to register as a sex offender for the next ten years and comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the same duration.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and community groups to combat online child exploitation and protect vulnerable minors from predators.
