Dunfermline Child Abuser
A man from Dunfermline has been placed on the sex offenders register after being found in possession of malicious images depicting child sexual abuse. Stuart Morris, aged 49 and residing on Woodmill Road, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court to be sentenced for charges he had previously admitted to. The court was told that, between February 27, 2020, and October 28, 2021, Morris downloaded indecent images of children from various locations, including Rintoul Avenue and Blairhall.
On December 9, 2021, Morris was also caught in possession of cannabis at Rintoul Avenue, and he was found to possess a mini flare gun without a firearms certificate. The court disclosed that Morris had accumulated a total of 623 images and videos depicting child abuse, some classified as 'A', the highest severity category.
Sheriff Susan Duff described the images as 'appalling' and commented that the existence of such material is due to 'people like you who want to view them.' As part of his sentence, Morris was ordered to complete a community payback order, which includes 270 hours of unpaid work and 18 months of supervision. Additionally, he will be registered as a sex offender for the next five years.
