STUART JOHN ALDRIDGE SENTENCED TO 18 YEARS IN BOURNEMOUTH FOR HISTORICAL CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after being found guilty of historical child sex offences involving two young girls.Stuart John Aldridge, 52, of Bournemouth, was convicted at Bournemouth Crown Court on charges including rape, two counts of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual activity with a child.
The crimes took place over approximately a decade, beginning in the late 1990s, and involved two separate victims.
One victim came forward in April 2019 to report the abuse, while the second was interviewed by authorities the following month.
Following these disclosures, Aldridge was promptly arrested and charged.
On Wednesday, February 16, he appeared for sentencing at Bournemouth Crown Court, where the judge imposed the 18-year prison term.
Detective Constable Jo Shewbridge of Dorset Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Team commented: “These two victims have shown great courage in coming forward to report the despicable abuse they suffered at the hands of Stuart Aldridge.
This led to a thorough investigation by the team, supported by the victims throughout the process, enabling us to bring him to justice for his terrible actions.
She added, “I hope this case demonstrates that we will take reports of this nature extremely seriously and will fully support victims of sexual abuse who come forward.”
