MAIDSTONE AND PLYMOUTH SEX OFFENDER STUART FERGUSON FACES JAIL FOR DECADES OF ABUSE
In a case that spans over five decades, Stuart Ferguson, a 70-year-old man from Week Street in Maidstone, Kent, has admitted to a series of serious sexual offenses committed against two young girls. The allegations stretch from 1964, when Ferguson was only 14 years old, through to 2019, highlighting a disturbing pattern of abuse that persisted over more than 50 years.
Ferguson pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of indecent assault against a child, which occurred between 1964 and 1970.
He also admitted to another count of indecency with a child during the same period.
These early offenses, committed when Ferguson was still a teenager, mark the beginning of a long and troubling history of misconduct.
In addition to these historic allegations, Ferguson also pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault against a second girl, with these incidents taking place between 2017 and 2019.
These more recent offenses occurred in Plymouth, a city in Devon, as well as in other locations across the country, indicating a pattern of predatory behavior that spanned decades and geographical boundaries.
Ferguson, who faced additional charges of indecent assault on the first girl during the 1960s, entered a plea of not guilty to two similar charges.
However, the Crown Prosecution Service, represented by Emily Pitts, confirmed that these pleas were accepted, and as a result, no trial would be necessary for those particular allegations.
The prosecution and defense are still working to agree on the factual details surrounding the offenses.
During the hearing, Recorder Jo Martin adjourned the case until March 26, to allow a probation officer to prepare a comprehensive report ahead of sentencing.
Ferguson was released on unconditional bail and has already been registered on the Sex Offender Register, reflecting the seriousness of his crimes and the ongoing monitoring of his conduct.
