STEWART URBAN FROM BRETTON, PETERBOROUGH, SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON SCHOOLGIRLS
In January 2014, a man named Stewart Urban, aged 39 and residing in Goffsmill, Bretton, Peterborough, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 12 years after being convicted of heinous sexual offenses involving two young schoolgirls.The crimes took place in 2011, shortly after Urban relocated to the city, and involved the assault and rape of two girls aged 14 and 15.
According to court records, Urban befriended the victims before luring them into his vehicle, where he committed the assaults.
Despite denying two counts of rape during the trial, the evidence presented was sufficient for a conviction, leading to his sentencing at Peterborough Crown Court last month.
Detective Sergeant Amerjit Singh, a representative from the Public Protection Unit of the local police force, expressed strong condemnation of Urban’s actions.
He described Urban as an “extremely manipulative offender” who showed no remorse for his crimes.
Singh emphasized that Urban continued to blame the victims, despite the trauma inflicted upon them.
The detective highlighted the courage of the victims, who came forward and testified in court, ultimately leading to Urban’s conviction and sentencing.
Sergeant Singh also underscored the importance of the justice system’s stance against such crimes, stating, “His sentence shows that crimes of this nature, against vulnerable people in our society, will not be tolerated.” The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to protect vulnerable individuals and ensure that offenders are held accountable for their actions.
