A man from Stockton, Steven Pattison, has been sentenced after admitting to sharing and possessing illegal images involving children and extreme pornography. The case, which was heard at Teesside Crown Court, revealed disturbing details about Pattison's actions spanning from 2016 to 2022.
According to court records, Pattison, aged 39, pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to the distribution and possession of indecent images. He admitted to publishing five obscene photographs of an extreme pornographic nature, which included explicit acts that could cause serious injury to private parts. These images were shared over a period of six years, from 2016 through 2022.
Furthermore, Pattison was found to have possessed 49 extreme pornographic images depicting sexual acts with animals. In addition to this, he faced three counts of making indecent images of children, which involved photographs portraying children engaged in sexual activities. The court also noted that some of these images depicted acts that could potentially result in serious harm to the victims.
The disturbing details did not end there. Pattison was also accused of distributing indecent photographs of children, an offense that added to the severity of his crimes. During the hearing, Pattison claimed that he had no unhealthy sexual interest in children and stated that he shared the images with colleagues at work in an attempt to shock and outrage them. He also claimed that he had been sent images showing animals being sexually abused and children being exploited.
Judge Joanne Kidd delivered her sentence, which included a 12-month prison term that was suspended for two years. As part of his punishment, Pattison is required to complete 150 hours of unpaid community service and must register as a sex offender for the next ten years.
