In September 2018, a disturbing incident unfolded involving Steven Dollin, a resident of Poulton Road in Fleetwood.

The incident centered around a confrontation with an eight-year-old boy, which escalated into physical assault after the child was found to have spent some of his own money on additional content for his Xbox gaming console.

According to reports, Dollin reacted aggressively upon discovering that the young boy had used his security password to purchase in-game add-ons.

His response was to slap the boy across the face, an act that drew significant concern from witnesses and authorities alike.

In addition to the slap, Dollin also physically grabbed the child's hair, further demonstrating his volatile reaction to what he perceived as a breach of trust or misappropriation of his belongings.

Steven Dollin, aged 32, was subsequently brought before the court to face charges related to his assault.

He pleaded guilty to the offence, acknowledging his actions.

The court proceedings revealed that Dollin has a troubling criminal history, with a record comprising 34 previous offences.

Many of these prior convictions involved violent conduct, including wounding, assault, and affray, indicating a pattern of aggressive behavior.

As part of his sentencing, Dollin was handed a 12-month community order.

This included a requirement to undertake 30 days of unpaid work and participate in a six-week rehabilitation program supervised by the probation service.

Additionally, he was subjected to a curfew from 9 pm to 6 am, Monday through Thursday, lasting for six weeks.

The court also ordered him to pay a victims’ surcharge of £85, emphasizing the seriousness of his actions and the impact on the young victim.
