Carlisle Sexual Abuser
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Carlisle, Steven Caddick, aged 47, was sentenced to six years in prison after being found guilty of filming six teenage girls using covert cameras installed in his former residence. The cameras, cleverly concealed within everyday household objects, included one hidden inside a clock and another concealed within a tumble dryer, allowing him to record the girls without their knowledge.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Caddick had set up these hidden devices at his address in Carlisle, which he no longer occupies. The court heard that he was able to remotely activate these cameras, enabling him to capture footage of the teenage girls when they visited his home. The girls, all minors, were unwitting subjects of his illicit recordings, which caused significant concern and distress.

In addition to the charges related to the hidden cameras, Caddick admitted to eight counts of producing pornographic films involving minors and two counts of indecent assault against a teenage girl. The court also learned that he had downloaded thousands of child pornography images from the internet, amounting to 14 separate charges. These actions demonstrated a disturbing pattern of behavior driven by an obsession with sex and children, as described during the trial.

The judge at Carlisle Crown Court emphasized the severity of Caddick’s offenses, highlighting the danger posed to the victims and the community. As part of his sentence, Caddick was ordered to register as a sex offender for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities. The case has left many in Carlisle deeply unsettled, raising concerns about the safety of minors and the importance of vigilance against such predatory behavior.
