Ms.
Martin stated that McIntosh was alone in the house and voluntarily surrendered his phone to the police.
Following a forensic analysis of the device, authorities identified 13 videos and 15 still images transmitted via WhatsApp, all depicting children being sexually abused.
The court was told that six images and ten videos, all classified as Category A, showed female children aged between five and 14 engaged in sexual activities with adults and other children.
Sheriff Derek O’Carroll ordered McIntosh to be placed on the sex offenders’ register on an interim basis.
The sheriff also deferred sentencing until next month to allow for social work assessments.
