Cannock Sexual Abuser
In October 2017, a driving instructor from Cannock named Stephen Wright faced justice in connection with serious historical sexual offences. The case, which was heard at Stafford Crown Court, revealed that Wright, aged 53 and residing in Broadhurst Green, had committed multiple offences spanning several years.

Wright was found guilty of four counts of sexual assault, with the incidents involving two teenage girls who were 17 and 18 years old at the time of the offences. The crimes took place over a period that included the years 2010, 2011, and 2014, highlighting a troubling pattern of misconduct that persisted over several years.

The court sentenced Wright to eight months in prison, but this sentence was suspended for a period of 12 months, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed another offence within that period. Additionally, Wright was ordered to complete 150 hours of community service, emphasizing the seriousness of his actions and the need for rehabilitation.

Furthermore, Wright was designated as a registered sex offender for the next ten years, a measure intended to monitor and restrict his activities to protect the public from potential harm. The case underscores the importance of addressing and prosecuting sexual offences, especially those involving vulnerable young individuals, and serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to uphold justice in the community of Cannock.
