A Whitehaven man, Stephen Wilson, aged 60, has been sentenced to six years and nine months in prison for committing child sex offences. He was convicted after pleading guilty to three charges of sexual activity with a child. The offences took place between December 2021 and May 2022, and Wilson was sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court on Tuesday, September 10. In addition to his prison sentence, Wilson has been subjected to a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and has been registered as a sex offender. Detective Constable Alex Todd, who led the investigation, stated that Wilson showed no remorse for his actions. Despite his guilty plea, Wilson continued to blame the victim, according to Detective Todd.
