Threshfield Child Sexual Abuser
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the small community of Threshfield, Stephen Moorhouse, a 58-year-old resident of Badger Gate, was brought before Bradford Crown Court to face serious charges related to the creation and possession of indecent images involving children. The proceedings, held in January 2013, revealed the extent of Moorhouse's alleged offenses, which spanned over a decade.

During the court session, Moorhouse pleaded guilty to a total of 30 charges. These charges included the production of indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child, with some images classified at the highest levels of severity, indicating extreme exploitation. Additionally, he admitted to possessing highly explicit and extreme pornographic material, which included images of bestiality. The offences were alleged to have occurred within the boundaries of Threshfield, with the earliest incidents dating back to May 2004 and continuing until June of the previous year.

The court heard that Moorhouse's actions had serious implications, not only for the victims depicted in the images but also for the wider community, which now faces the repercussions of such disturbing allegations. The evidence presented painted a disturbing picture of the defendant's activities over a prolonged period.

In sentencing, the judge decided on a 12-month prison term, which was suspended for two years. This means Moorhouse will not serve time in prison unless he commits further offences within that period. As part of his sentence, he is also required to undergo two years of supervision, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his conduct. Furthermore, Moorhouse is mandated to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, a measure designed to protect the community and facilitate ongoing oversight.

In addition, he faces an indefinite ban from working with children, a restriction that aims to prevent any potential risk to vulnerable minors. The case has highlighted the importance of vigilance and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution and creation of harmful and illegal images involving minors.
