March 2018 Pervert avoids prison after offences against young child A paedophile has avoided a prison sentence after committing sexual offences against a young girl Stephen Horrocks of Seaforth, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court where he was found guilty of sexual offences: Causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity Making and taking indecent images of children – Covering all levels of indecency Horrock’s denied the offences which forced the young girl to give evidence against him, by way of a pre-recorded interview with specially trained officers The court was told that the abuse started when the girl was just three-years-old. Over the next two years, the abuse escalated. A video of one of the assaults was recovered. That video was used in court as evidence Sentencing: 24 months imprisonment suspended for two years must participate in a rehabilitation activity requirement for 60 days Must carry out 220 hours of unpaid work Participate in a sex offender programme for two years
