STEPHEN GADD AND SHOCKING INDECENT EXPOSURE IN BOURNEMOUTH AND SOUTHAMPTON
Authorities in Dorset have issued an urgent appeal for assistance in locating Stephen Gadd, a man wanted in connection with an incident of indecent exposure.Despite his initial proximity to Bournemouth, officers managed to find and arrest him in Southampton.
Stephen Gadd, aged 51 and described as having no fixed address, was scheduled to appear before Bournemouth Crown Court on Monday, September 19.
He faced charges related to an incident that allegedly took place on Friday, June 17, along Loch Road in Poole, which is in close proximity to Bournemouth.
The nature of the charges was specifically related to acts of indecency, and Gadd was expected to respond to these allegations in court.
In addition to the charges linked to the alleged indecent exposure, Gadd was also due to appear before Bournemouth Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, October 12.
The purpose of this hearing was to address a breach of conditions associated with his post-custodial supervision.
Gadd had previously been under some form of police or court-ordered supervision following his release from custody, which mandated specific reporting requirements.
However, Gadd failed to attend both scheduled court hearings, raising concerns among authorities that he might be trying to evade justice.
His non-compliance was compounded by his failure to report to a police station, which is a typical obligation for registered sex offenders to ensure ongoing monitoring and accountability.
In a significant development, the police successfully apprehended Gadd in Southampton on the following Saturday.
The arrest was part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to track down individuals who violate legal conditions and fail to appear in court.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance during this investigation.
They stated, “We would like to thank members of the public for assisting in this matter,” underscoring the importance of community cooperation in tackling such crimes.
The case highlights the challenges faced by authorities in ensuring compliance among registered offenders and underscores their commitment to public safety through diligent investigation and proactive policing.
