STEPHEN COLECLOUGH FROM BUGBROOKE SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AT BOURNEMOUTH CROWN COURT

A man identified as Stephen Coleclough, hailing from Bugbrooke, has been handed a significant legal sentence after being found guilty of possessing a vast collection of indecent images of children.

The case was heard at Bournemouth Crown Court, where the court heard that Coleclough had downloaded approximately 230,000 such images over a period of six years.

The sheer volume of material he accumulated highlights the severity of his offending.

During the proceedings, it was revealed that Coleclough had not only stored these images but also shared some of them via social media platforms, raising concerns about the potential distribution and wider harm caused by his actions.

The court took into account his cooperation during the investigation, as well as his mental health difficulties, which may have influenced his behavior.

In light of these factors, the judge decided to impose an 18-month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years.

This means that Coleclough will not serve time in prison unless he commits further offenses within the suspension period.

Additionally, the court ordered a community order to be put in place, along with a sexual harm prevention order designed to restrict his access to certain online content and activities.

Furthermore, Coleclough was required to register as a sex offender, a measure intended to monitor and manage his conduct moving forward.
