Northwich Sexual Abuser
In June 2022, Stephen Bonnett, a 27-year-old resident of Northwich in Cheshire West, faced legal repercussions after violating a court-imposed notification requirement. Bonnett appeared before Chester Magistrates’ Court on June 16, where he pleaded guilty to failing to inform authorities about his whereabouts, specifically regarding his stay at a residence with a child present.

According to court records, between May 6 and May 10, 2022, Bonnett neglected to notify police within the mandated three-day period after staying in a household where a child was present for at least 12 hours. The failure to report was not an isolated incident, as he was also charged with the same offence for the period between May 11 and May 14, 2022.

Despite acknowledging his guilt, the court took into account Bonnett’s prior convictions related to similar offences, which influenced the severity of his sentencing. The magistrates decided to impose a custodial sentence, reflecting the seriousness of his repeated breaches and his history of non-compliance.

Bonnett was sentenced to serve 36 weeks in prison. Additionally, he was ordered to pay court costs amounting to £85 and a surcharge of £156. The ruling underscores the importance of adhering to court orders, especially for individuals with a history of offences involving children and court notifications.
