STEFFAN ALLEN CAUGHT FILMING TEENAGE GIRLS IN ST AUSTELL SWIMMING POOL
In February 2016, a disturbing case emerged involving Steffan Allen, a 42-year-old surveyor from St Austell, who was found guilty of secretly filming schoolgirls and women in a local swimming pool.The incident took place at Polkyth Leisure Centre, a popular recreational facility in St Austell, where Allen committed his voyeuristic acts in the changing rooms.
On March 19 of the previous year, Allen covertly placed a mobile phone in his shoe, positioning it beneath a partition in the unisex changing area.
From this concealed vantage point, he recorded two teenage girls aged 14 and 15 as they undressed.
One of the girls was captured topless, an act that has caused significant distress.
The court was told that the girls noticed the phone propped up in a shoe and immediately sought assistance from staff members.
An off-duty police officer present at the scene observed Allen emerging from his cubicle with the phone in hand.
Police officers arrived promptly and attempted to seize the device.
