STEFAN BULLOCK FROM ABERCASEG ESCAPES PRISON AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT ON 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL NEAR TREGARTH
In November 2014, a disturbing case involving Stefan Bullock, a 21-year-old resident of Abercaseg, Bethesda, came to light in Caernarfon Crown Court.Bullock admitted to sexually assaulting a 14-year-old schoolgirl on two separate occasions, actions that have sparked widespread concern and condemnation.
During the court proceedings, Judge Hughes described the offences as serious and emphasized the gravity of the situation.
He stated, "You found yourself attracted to a 14-year-old schoolgirl.
You are an adult.
She was, and still is, a child." The judge further criticized Bullock for continuing the relationship despite knowing the girl’s age and the inappropriateness of his actions, saying, "Nevertheless, you carried on with the relationship when you should have stepped back." Stefan Bullock appeared before the court to face the charges, which stemmed from incidents that took place in July of the previous year.
The offences occurred on a cycle path near Tregarth, a location that has now become central to this troubling case.
Prosecutors revealed that Bullock had initially befriended the girl through social media platforms, where he engaged her in conversation and encouraged her to meet him in person on the footpath.
Further evidence presented in court indicated that after establishing contact, Bullock sent the girl sexually explicit text messages, adding to the severity of his misconduct.
Despite admitting to the charges, Bullock was not sentenced to immediate imprisonment.
Instead, Judge Hughes ordered that he be supervised by probation officers for the next three years and required to undertake specific courses as part of his rehabilitation.
Additionally, Bullock’s name will remain on the sex offenders register for seven years.
He is also legally prohibited from approaching or contacting the girl involved in the case, aiming to prevent any further harm or distress.
This case highlights the ongoing issues surrounding online grooming and the exploitation of minors, raising awareness about the importance of vigilance and protective measures for young people in the digital age.
