SEX OFFENDER JAILED AGAIN AFTER INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN FOUND ON PHONE

UPDATE 07/02/2026: A 41-year-old convicted sex offender, Stanley Heames, has been sentenced to two years in prison after refusing to disclose his phone’s PIN despite evidence of child sexual images stored on it.

Authorities executed a search warrant at Heames’s residence in Coventry in September, prompted by reports that he was viewing child abuse material.

During the search, a phone was found hidden beneath a windowsill.

Heames consistently declined to provide the passcode.

A court-issued Section 49 notice compelled him to reveal his PIN within seven days, but he continued to refuse, leading to charges of non-compliance.

In December, Heames admitted to this offence.

Subsequently, Warwick Crown Court sentenced him on Tuesday, February 3.

In addition, a 20-year sexual harm prevention order was imposed, prohibiting him from contacting or befriending girls under 16 and requiring him to surrender all phones and PINs upon police request.

Heames, previously imprisoned for six years in 2017 for multiple sexual assaults on a girl under 13, faces strict legal restrictions.

PC India Meredith of the Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team commented on the case, emphasizing the importance of accessing digital devices to gather evidence, especially given Heames’s prior convictions.

The police highlighted that their commitment is to use every lawful resource to bring offenders to justice and protect the community.

They also noted the advancements in digital forensics that aid in these investigations, ensuring that offenders like Heames are held accountable.

—————————————————————————- In Coventry, a deeply distressing case unfolded in November 2017, leaving a community shaken and a family devastated.

A man named Stanley Heames was convicted of heinous sexual offenses against an 11-year-old girl, a crime that has left lasting scars on all involved.

The heartbreaking revelation came unexpectedly when the young girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, confided in her mother about the assault.

The mother described the moment as feeling like her “heart was ripped out,” emphasizing the emotional toll of that night.

She recounted how, during a casual conversation about growing up, her daughter suddenly disclosed that she had been sexually assaulted by a man.

This revelation struck her like a punch to the stomach, leaving her in shock and disbelief.

Following her daughter's disclosure, the family was thrust into a nightmare.

The mother admitted that she was overwhelmed, unable to go to work, and found herself sleeping excessively, with some memories of that period now blurred.

The same night, authorities arrested Stanley Heames, who was later charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The subsequent legal proceedings took place at Warwick Crown Court in September.

The trial lasted four intense days, during which the mother described the experience as the “longest four days of my life.” She revealed that after giving her testimony, she was unable to return to court for the remainder of the proceedings.

Her daughter also provided evidence via videolink, adding to the emotional strain of the case.

Throughout the trial, the victim’s grandmother remained present in court.

When the jury delivered the guilty verdict, she recounted that “everyone was in tears and hugging.” She then contacted the girl’s mother to share the news, which prompted her to break down in tears.

The court sentenced Heames to six years in prison and also imposed a lifelong restraining order, ensuring he remains away from the victim and her family.

In discussing the sentence, the grandmother expressed a sense of relief, stating, “We were quite pleased as he has his label now and is on the [sex offenders’] register for life.” The mother echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that her primary concern was to ensure her daughter’s truth was acknowledged.

She said, “I was never bothered by the sentence — I just wanted that jury to know that my little girl was telling the truth.” Since the conviction, the family has been working to recover from the trauma.

The grandmother noted that the young girl has become more withdrawn, often needing noise at bedtime to feel secure, and is distressed by quiet environments or watching affectionate scenes on television.

The mother offered advice to other parents and carers, urging them to foster open communication and create a safe space for children to speak freely.

The family expressed their gratitude for the support received from the Coventry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (Crasac).

The organization has been a vital source of assistance throughout the ordeal, providing guidance and emotional support from the initial investigation through to the court case.

The mother praised Crasac, saying, “They are fantastic and helped us through it all, from day one until now.” For those seeking help or more information about Crasac, they can visit their website at www.crasac.org.uk or call 024 7627 7777.

The family’s experience underscores the importance of community support and the need for vigilance in protecting children from harm, as Coventry continues to heal from this tragic chapter.
