NORWICH MAN SPARED JAIL OVER INDECENT IMAGES OFFENCES
A young man who was addicted to pornography was found with more than 2,000 indecent images of children, a court has heard.Soloman Glover, now 20, was 17 at the time he started amassing more than 2,100 indecent images of children.
Norwich Crown Court heard 844 of the images found by police on devices belonging to Glover were of category A, the most serious.
Police also found 656 category B images and 667 category C images after "multiple devices" were seized from Glover in May 2023.
Also found were two prohibited images of children and two extreme pornographic images.
Glover, from the Norwich area, appeared in court on Wednesday after admitting three counts of making indecent images of children as well as possessing prohibited images and extreme pornographic images.
Oliver Haswell, mitigating, said he accepted these were "serious offences" but said Glover had been "addicted to pornography from a very young age".
He said Glover, who has no previous convictions, had autism, ADHD, and an "isolated childhood".
But he said the defendant who told his pre-sentence report author he hated himself for what he had done, had sought help independently from the Lucy Faithfull Foundation - a charity which works to help prevent child sexual abuse.
Glover was given a six months detention, suspended for 18 months, with credit for his young age, pleas, and efforts to address his offending.
He also was ordered to carry out 25 days Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) and 150 hours of unpaid work.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders' register for seven years.
