Cheltenham Sexual Abuser
A man caught possessing illegal child abuse images on his computer has had his original sentence reduced following an appeal. Simon Talbot, aged 50 and from Cheltenham, was initially sentenced to 12 months in prison but this has now been shortened to an eight-month sentence suspended for the same period. Talbot was convicted of possessing images, predominantly of young children, though not the most serious Category A classification. The court also imposed a sexual harm prevention order and mandated that he register as a sex offender for ten years, citing a decade-long collection of such images.
