SIMON ROBERTSON'S SHOCKING CRIME IN LINCOLNSHIRE: THERAPIST JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST PATIENTS
A man identified as Simon Robertson, residing on Louth Road in Binbrook, Lincolnshire, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after being found guilty of engaging in sexual activity with a patient during his professional duties as a therapist. The incident, which took place in 2022, has sent shockwaves through the local community and highlights the serious breach of trust and abuse of power involved in such cases.
According to court records, Robertson initially began assisting the victim in 2021, establishing a professional relationship that later devolved into inappropriate conduct.
It was during this period that Robertson, aged 48, crossed professional boundaries by intimately touching his patient.
The misconduct was uncovered after the victim reported the incident, leading to a police investigation.
During the legal proceedings, Robertson initially denied the allegations, maintaining his innocence.
However, the case took a significant turn during his fourth police interview when an audio recording of the offence was played to him, revealing the details of his misconduct.
Faced with this evidence, Robertson ultimately pleaded guilty to the charges but attempted to justify his actions by claiming the encounter was consensual.
Despite his plea, the court sentenced Robertson to 18 months in prison.
Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years, a measure designed to monitor and prevent further offenses.
A restraining order was also issued, prohibiting any contact between Robertson and the victim to protect the victim from further harm.
DC Carla Sutton, who led the investigation, expressed her condemnation of Robertson’s actions, stating, “Robertson’s actions were extremely inappropriate.
The vulnerable in our society look to those in a position of power for help and support, and in this case, Robertson took advantage of his standing in an awful way.” She emphasized the importance of justice for victims and praised the bravery of the individual who came forward to report the crime, adding, “This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated in Lincolnshire, and I’d like to pay tribute to the bravery of the victim in this case who came forward and told their story.
We will do everything we can to bring those who perpetrate such terrible crimes to justice.”
