In February 2013, the case of Simon Morris, a 42-year-old actor from Battersea, took a dark turn as he was convicted and sentenced for serious sexual offenses involving a 15-year-old girl. Morris, who has appeared in the popular TV series Hollyoaks and had roles in the 2000 film Shiner, faced a lengthy trial at Cardiff Crown Court that revealed disturbing details about his actions and the subsequent legal proceedings.

According to court records, Morris was accused of helping his young victim pour champagne at a house party before secretly entering her room at approximately 6 a.m. and committing a sexual assault. The prosecution argued that Morris's claims of suffering from sexsomnia—a sleep disorder characterized by engaging in sexual activities while asleep—were merely a feeble attempt to evade responsibility. Morris denied the allegations, insisting he had no memory of the incident, asserting that he was asleep during the attack.
