FORMER AYLESBURY SOLDIER ADMITS SENDING EXPLICIT MESSAGES TO UNDERAGE GIRLS
Simon Launchbury, aged 33 and residing in Waddeston near Aylesbury, has pleaded guilty to four counts of attempted sexual communication with a child. The court heard that he admitted to attempting to send sexually explicit messages to four individuals he believed to be underage girls.
However, the girls were actually adults operating decoy social media accounts.
Oxford Crown Court was informed that Launchbury had communicated with the girls about wanting to perform naked massages on them, discussed meeting in a hotel room, and explained the meaning of the phrase ‘morning glory’.
Seeming in court wearing a suit and tie, he pleaded guilty to these charges.
His barrister requested an adjournment for a pre-sentence report and to potentially obtain psychiatric assessments from the armed forces, as he was no longer serving in the army.
The sentencing was scheduled for September 17, and Launchbury was granted bail.
The case was adjourned for further psychiatric evaluation and sentencing.
