SIMON GODDARD FROM WITNEY SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES

In a recent court ruling, Simon Goddard, aged 37 and residing on Stow Avenue in Witney, was found guilty of possessing and creating indecent images of children.

The charges stem from incidents that took place over a span of several years, with the first involving the possession of 71 indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of minors, which he admitted on March 17, 2011.

These images were stored on his devices and represented a serious breach of child protection laws.

Furthermore, Goddard was also responsible for producing a further 33 indecent images or pseudo photographs of children.

These acts occurred between October 1, 2009, and May 30, 2010, indicating a pattern of offending behavior over an extended period.

The court considered these offenses to be particularly grave, given the nature of the images and the potential harm to the victims involved.

As part of his sentencing, Simon Goddard received a community order that includes a 24-day activity requirement, aimed at encouraging rehabilitation and community engagement.

Additionally, he is subject to a supervision requirement, which involves regular monitoring and support from probation services to prevent reoffending.

To further restrict his access to the internet, a sexual offences prevention order was imposed, explicitly banning him from using the internet unsupervised.

This measure is intended to reduce the risk of him committing further offenses involving online material.

In addition to the community order and restrictions, Goddard has been added to the sex offenders register for a period of five years.

This registration ensures that authorities can monitor his activities and enforce compliance with the court's orders, reflecting the seriousness with which the justice system treats offenses of this nature.
