SIMON GOAD FROM HEXTHORPE, ROTHERHAM, SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABDUCTION AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN DONCASTER

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local communities of Hexthorpe and Rotherham, Simon Goad, a 46-year-old man residing at Riverside Court, Dinnington, Rotherham, has been sentenced to four years in prison following his involvement in a serious child abuse incident and possession of indecent images of children. The incident unfolded in September when Goad attempted to lure a seven-year-old girl riding her bicycle on Mutual Street, located in Hexthorpe, into his vehicle. The young girl, who was simply out enjoying her ride, was approached by Goad, who asked her to get into his car. Fortunately, the girl refused and quickly ran to her nearby home, where she informed her mother about the unsettling encounter.

Authorities were promptly alerted, and police officers arrested Goad at his residence. During a search of his home, law enforcement officials seized multiple electronic devices, including two computers. The investigation revealed a disturbing collection of over 8,000 indecent images of children stored on these devices. Further analysis uncovered a recording of an online interaction involving Goad and three young girls of Asian descent, aged approximately five, seven, and twelve. In this recording, Goad performed a sexual act while asking the girls to strip, highlighting the severity of his misconduct.

As the investigation progressed, officers discovered more than a thousand indecent images of children, graded from one to five in terms of severity. These findings painted a clear picture of Goad’s disturbing activities and his possession of illicit material. Goad ultimately pleaded guilty to charges of attempted child abduction and nine counts of possessing indecent images of children. His sentencing reflects the gravity of his crimes and the threat he posed to the safety of children in the community.

Detective Constable Andy Gray commented on the case, stating, “We were able to identify, locate, and arrest Goad almost immediately, thereby preventing him from committing any further offenses against this young girl or any other child. Now he has been sentenced, I hope both the girl and her family are able to put this ordeal behind them and move forward with their lives.” The case underscores the importance of swift police action in protecting vulnerable children from predators and highlights the ongoing need for vigilance in safeguarding the community.
