March 2013 Jail for child abuse images who tried to abduct seven year old Doncaster girl A SENIOR Sheffield nurse with a ‘dark side’ has been jailed for four years after he attempted to abduct a seven-year-old girl from the streets of Doncaster Simon Goad, of Riverside Court, Dinnington, Rotherham, asked a seven-year-old girl who was riding her bike on Mutual Street, in Hexthorpe, to get into his car last September. The 46-year-old’s car was parked close by. The girl refused and ran to her house near by. She went in and told her mother what had happened. Police later arrested Goad and conducted a search of his home address where his computers were seized. When Goad, a nurse practitioner at the Northern General Hospital in Fir Vale, was arrested by police, officers found more than 8,000 indecent images of children on two computers. They also found a recording of an internet ‘interaction’ he had with three Asian girls, aged about five, seven and 12, where he performed a sex act while asking them to strip. As the computers were analysed by officers as part of the investigation, over a thousand indecent images of children were discovered, graded from one to five. Today he was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to the attempted abduction of a child and nine counts of possession of indecent images of children. Det Cons Andy Gray said: “We were able to identify, locate and arrest Goad almost immediately, therefore preventing him from committing any other offences against this young girl or any other child. “Now he has been sentenced, I hope both the girl and her family are able to put this ordeal behind them and move forward with their lives.”
