She died from around 50 stab wounds to her head and neck and an additional 10 wounds to her chest.
Forgie, aged 42, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility at the Old Bailey.
It was revealed in court that, on 6 February, Forgie knocked on a neighbour’s door, claiming he had been locked out, but the neighbour noticed blood on his tracksuit bottoms.
The neighbour went to investigate and found Mrs.
Forgie slumped on the floor.
She was taken to Lewisham Hospital but later died.
In police interviews, Forgie reported that he believed his mother was not his real mother and referred to his family as 'evil' and 'from the other side.' The court heard he claimed a voice had told him to kill his mother to test if she would come back from the dead and confirm his suspicions.
Judge Kramer QC ordered a hospital detention and a public protection restriction.
Psychiatrist Dr.
Ian Cummings confirmed during proceedings that Forgie continues to believe his mother is not biologically related to him and that he remains in treatment.
