According to a police spokesperson, officers responded to his home on March 16, 2021, based on intelligence suggesting illegal child abuse images were being downloaded from his internet connection.
The authorities seized Cornwell’s electronic devices, which contained several illegal images: 54 categorized as A, 53 as B, 2,058 as C, and eight extreme pornographic pictures involving animals.
Cornwell pleaded guilty at Derby Crown Court to charges including possession of extreme pornography, images of animals involved in sexual acts, and creating indecent images or pseudo-images of children.
He was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, meaning if he commits no further crimes during this period, he will not serve time behind bars.
He also has been ordered to participate in a 45-day sex offender treatment course and to attend 55 rehabilitation sessions arranged by probation authorities.
He is on the sex offender register for a decade and has been subjected to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
