SIMON AUSTIN FROM SHETLAND AND RUSTINGTON TO FACE BAIL AT WORTHING MAGISTRATES COURT

Simon Austin, formerly known as Simon Austin Hamilton, aged 43, of Vadel Ayre, North Roe, Shetland, and previously of Sutton Avenue, Rustington, is scheduled to appear on bail at Worthing Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 30. The case involves 20 charges authorized by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), following a detailed investigation spanning over two and a half years conducted by Sussex Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT). Austin faces 12 counts of creating indecent videos and images of children via the internet between 2007 and 2009. Additionally, he is charged with seven counts of outraging public decency by filming covert videos of women on the London Tube network in 2008 and 2009. One further charge involves refusing to disclose his computer password in May 2012. During all the alleged offences, Austin was living in Rustington. A police spokesperson noted that the allegedly indecent videos of children did not involve any youngsters from the local area.
