Blyth Sexual Abuser
A violent offender named Shurn Hall from Blyth was convicted of severely assaulting his girlfriend following a dispute initiated over her wanting to use his phone. The incident occurred at his flat on February 12, where, after a heated argument, the victim threw a chicken burger at him and slapped him across the face. Hall responded by coming up behind her and throwing over ten punches at her head with extreme force, then finally delivering a direct blow to her face. She described seeing a flash of light and feeling intense pain, with blood dripping from her eye, and struggled to see afterward. Despite her pleas for an ambulance, Hall refused to help her and initially denied causing her injuries, claiming she had fallen downstairs instead. The victim was left with permanent eye damage, facial fractures, and psychological trauma, feeling she would never trust another man again and suffering from double vision. Hall, who has 31 previous convictions, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent and was sentenced to five years and four months in prison, along with a ten-year restraining order. The attack’s severity deeply impacted the victim’s life, leading her to feel emotionally drained and to have lost confidence.
