December 2016 Man told ‘jail is inevitable’ after admitting sex offences against 15-year-old girl A man has been told a prison sentence is ‘inevitable’ after he admitted a string of historical sexual offences against a 15-year-old girl. 31-year-old Shaun Prettyjohns, of Coopers Mill, Norton Fitzwarren, appeared at Taunton Crown Court today (December 19) and had been expected to stand trial. But at the last minute he entered guilty pleas to two counts of a penetrative sexual act with a child, and four counts of taking indecent photographs of a child. Judge David Ticehurst adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report to be created, but told him: “It is almost inevitable that you will get an immediate prison sentence for what you have done.” Prettyjohns was ordered to sign the Sexual Offender’s Register and will be back before the court for sentencing on January 23. Until then, he was released on bail.
