SHAUN POWELL FROM PENRYN SENTENCED FOR DESPERATE ACTS AND DANGEROUS ITEMS
In February 2019, Shaun Powell, a 34-year-old resident of Penryn, was sentenced to prison after being found guilty by a jury of several alarming offenses.
The court heard that Powell had exposed himself deliberately to a female student at the combined universities campus in Penryn.
Additionally, police discovered numerous dangerous items at his home, including a petrol bomb, a syringe, handcuffs, balaclavas, various knives, imitation handguns, a magazine featuring serial killers, condoms, latex gloves, and a device designed for discharging a noxious liquid.
Powell was also found to have manufactured a petrol bomb and owned magazines about serial killers.
His arrest followed reports of him standing completely naked on a footpath connecting the university campus with Treliever Road.
Judge Simon Carr sentenced Powell to 18 months in prison, with an additional one-year extended license period.
