JEALOUS WIFE SENTENCED AFTER STABBING HUSBAND IN TWO-HOUR DOMESTIC ATTACK
A jealous wife named Sharon Camm attacked her husband with multiple weapons, including two knives, a carving fork, and an axe, in an intense, two-hour assault because she was convinced he was having an affair.
She chased him around the kitchen table and was described as being 'overcome with emotion' during the attack.
According to reports, Camm used the carving fork to stab her husband multiple times, including four stab wounds to his back, and also injured him with a knife, axe, and a meat fork.
The incident occurred at their home in Old Whittington, just 10 miles from Sheffield, in the early hours of September 22.
The attack left her husband suffering from multiple injuries, including wounds to his scalp, arm, back, shoulder, and a collapsed lung.
Police bodycam footage recorded officers finding her husband sitting in a bloodied state, while she was upstairs in the bedroom.
Despite her actions, her husband did not want her prosecuted and refused to give a formal police statement or victim impact statement.
Sharon Camm pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and causing actual bodily harm.
A psychiatric assessment concluded she was not a danger to the public but posed a risk of serious harm to her husband.
Judge Robert Egbuna sentenced her to five years in prison, describing her actions as 'a terrible thing to do' and 'petrifying for your husband,' noting she was 'out of control.' The court noted her remorse and love for her husband, stating her behavior was 'completely out of character' and that she was 'overcome with emotion' when she acted.
The attack was reportedly triggered by her obsession with her husband's alleged infidelity, which escalated in the days leading up to the assault.
