SHARD KENNEDY SENTENCED TO 13 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE IN WARGRAVE

In a case that has shocked the community of Wargrave, a 61-year-old man named Shard Kennedy has been handed a severe prison sentence of 13 years after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving a young child.

The crimes, which included three counts of sexual assault and one count of assault by penetration against a child under the age of 13, occurred over a span of several years from 2009 to 2012. These disturbing acts only came to light when the victim, now an adult, confronted Kennedy several years later and secretly recorded their interaction on her mobile phone.

During the court proceedings at Reading Crown Court, a recording was played that captured a distressing exchange between the victim and Kennedy. In the recording, the victim questions Kennedy about the abuse, asking, “you used to do stuff to me,” to which Kennedy responds with an apology and admits to feeling “disgusted” with himself. This candid admission provided crucial evidence in the case.

The court also reviewed recordings of the victim’s police interviews conducted in 2016, which further substantiated the allegations and highlighted the long-lasting impact of Kennedy’s actions.
