SHANEN SMITH FROM LOCHGELLY SENTENCED IN DUNFERMLINE AFTER DOMESTIC ASSAULT

A 24-year-old woman from Lochgelly named Shanen Smith appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court to be sentenced following an incident in which she assaulted her partner. The court was told that on May 16, at her residence, Smith, who was intoxicated, began arguing with her partner. The altercation escalated when she pushed her onto a bed and bit her partner's leg, resulting in an injury. Police officers, who responded to the scene, observed a bite mark on the victim's leg as evidence of the assault. Smith admitted her involvement in the attack, explaining that her memory of the events was hazy due to alcohol consumption. The court imposed a community payback order with a 12-month supervision period. The incident was described as a drunken assault involving physical violence and biting directed at her partner.
