MAN THREATENED EX-PARTNER AND PAID HOMELESS MAN TO KILL HER, SENTENCED AT SWANSEA CROWN COURT
A man threatened to cut the throat of his former partner and told her he would pay a homeless man £50 to kill her, a court heard.Sebastian Stoian, 45, made a series of threats against his victim in phone calls on August 22 this year.
On that day the victim had been to Stoian’s home to return some furniture, but he became “aggressive” before he slipped her a sealed envelope and told her not to open it until she got home.
Inside the envelope was a handwritten note from Stoian telling his former partner that he knew her new address, writing: “Now I know where you live I can come anytime.” Later that day he called the woman on her phone and they spoke on more than one occasion.
That evening he tried to call her 30 times.
When he did manage to speak to her he “expressed anger” and threatened to kill her by strangulation or by cutting her throat.

He also told his victim that he would break all her windows and pay a homeless man £50 to kill her for him, before making “crude remarks” about her dead relatives.
He then turned up at her home and knocked on the door.
The victim contacted police and two officers later arrested Stoian at his address.
Stoian, of Temple Terrace, Lampeter, admitted making threats to kill and stalking involving fear of violence and appeared via video link at Swansea Crown Court on Friday to be sentenced.
Prosecution barrister Ryan Bowen described the impact on the victim, who expressed feeling “fearful and unsettled” ever since the incident, with nightmares and discomfort leaving her house.
His Honour Judge Geraint Walters sentenced Stoian to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years, along with a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement, 100 hours of unpaid work, and a five-year restraining order.
The judge noted that Stoian had no prior trouble and showed some remorse, stating: “You have shown some signs of remorse and indicated a determination to move on from this rather unpleasant episode.”
