SEAN STEVEN TAYLOR OF BIRCHWOOD JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT IN CHESTER
A resident of Birchwood with a previous history of sex offences has been sentenced to prison after an incident in which he assaulted a woman.
Sean Steven Taylor, 23, from Layton Close, targeted a 51-year-old woman on the afternoon of July 19 in Birchwood.
Cheshire Police report that Taylor grabbed her from behind, forcing his hands inside her top and assaulting her.
Following the attack, Taylor pushed the victim to the ground and fled the scene.
Fortunately, officers were able to identify him using CCTV footage captured at the scene.
Taylor was subsequently arrested and charged with the sexual assault of an adult woman.
He pleaded guilty at Chester Crown Court on Friday and received a sentence of 28 months in prison.
Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender.
DC Richard Kirby commented on the case, saying, "Sexual offences are horrific crimes which cause great distress to the victims and their families.
The use of CCTV in this case was essential to swiftly identifying the offender and bringing him to justice."
