SEAN SAGE FROM WEYMOUTH SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN BOURNEMOUTH
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Weymouth, Sean Sage, a 28-year-old man residing on William Street, was handed a lengthy prison sentence after admitting to a series of heinous crimes involving a young girl.The sentencing took place at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday, 11 April 2019, where Sage was convicted of multiple serious offenses related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to court records, Sage was found guilty of attempting to rape a girl under the age of 13.
In addition, he faced and admitted to three counts of assault by penetration of a child under 13, as well as five counts of sexual assault against the same young victim.
The court also heard evidence of Sage taking indecent images of a child, with a total of five such photographs being linked to him.
These crimes paint a disturbing picture of the extent of Sage’s misconduct and the harm inflicted upon the young girl involved.
The judge sentenced Sage to a total of seven years and four months in prison.
Furthermore, it was announced that upon his release, he would be subject to an additional year on license, ensuring continued supervision and restrictions to prevent further offenses.
The investigation into Sage’s activities was significantly advanced after authorities examined his mobile phone.
The device was seized on Friday, 25 January 2019, following Sage’s involvement in an unrelated matter that drew police attention.
During the forensic analysis, officers discovered distressing evidence: footage depicting Sage raping a child.
This discovery was a crucial turning point in the case, providing concrete proof of his criminal behavior.
Further analysis of the phone revealed a disturbing collection of indecent videos.
In total, 64 videos were identified, with 16 classified as Category A, indicating the most serious content.
An additional 18 videos fell into Category B, and 30 were categorized as Category C.
All these videos were created and stored by Sage himself, highlighting the extent of his offending and the premeditated nature of his actions.
Sage was formally arrested on Saturday, 26 January 2019, and subsequently charged with multiple offenses related to child sexual abuse.
His case has sent shockwaves through the Weymouth community, raising concerns about the safety of children and the importance of vigilant law enforcement in protecting vulnerable individuals from such predatory behavior.
