SEAN ROYLE FROM KENT SENTENCED AFTER BREACHING SEXUAL HARM PREVENTION ORDER AND GROOMING 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL
A man from Kent, identified as Sean Royle, has been handed a significant prison sentence after flagrantly disregarding court-imposed restrictions designed to prevent him from reoffending.Royle, aged 38 and residing on Claremont Road in Maidstone, was found to have violated a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that had previously been issued against him, demonstrating a blatant disregard for legal boundaries and public safety.
According to Kent Police, Royle secretly used a mobile phone to communicate with a 13-year-old girl, despite the restrictions placed upon him.
In July 2023, police investigations confirmed that Royle was in a relationship with a minor, which was a direct breach of his existing court orders.
It was revealed that he had utilized a Snapchat account on a different device to contact the young girl, attempting to groom her for inappropriate purposes.
Royle’s actions included asking the girl to be his girlfriend and sending her a photograph of himself.
The image showed his face and upper torso, which was naked and displayed a distinctive tattoo, further indicating his identity.
The victim, in this case, confided in her father, who promptly contacted law enforcement authorities to report the incident.
On November 29, 2023, police officers successfully located Royle and seized his phone.
An analysis of the device uncovered nearly 200 illegal videos and images, many depicting the sexual abuse of unknown children.
These findings led to multiple charges against Royle, including engaging in sexual communication with a minor, repeated violations of the Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and possession of indecent images of children.
Royle admitted to the charges, and during his court appearance, he pleaded guilty.
On November 21, at Maidstone Crown Court, he was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison.
Additionally, the court imposed a new ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order to further restrict his activities and protect potential future victims.
