January 2015 Man who admitted possessing indecent images of children walks free from court A Wirral man who admitted possessing thousands of indecent images of children has walked free from court. Police investigators found 3,596 sick photographs on two laptops used by Sean Patrick Molloy, 27. Molloy, of Atherton Street, Wallasey, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today, where he pleaded guilty to four charges condensed from an initial 16. Three of the charges related to making (downloading) indecent photographs of children while the other was possession of indecent photographs of children. This happened while Molloy lived at an address in Albion Street, Wallasey, between November 5, 2011 and April 6, 2013 and subsequently at a house in Willow Street, Oswestry, in Shropshire. The images were graded at varying levels of seriousness, from the most serious to the least serious. Some 465 of the images were classified in the most serious category, category A, and 1,316 were of the second most serious category, category B, with the rest classified at lower levels. Molloy was handed a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years, a two-year supervision order, told to attend a sex offenders program and made subject to an indefinite Sexual Offences Prevention Order. All but one of the charges he admitted relate to making (downloading) an indecent photograph of a child at an address in Albion Street, Wallasey, between November 5, 2011 and April 6, 2013. The images are graded at varying levels of seriousness, from the least serious to the second most serious. The final charge saw Molloy accused of possessing a total of 3,580 indecent images between the same dates at the same address. Some 1,815 of the images were classified in the least serious category, category one, and 465 were of the second most serious category, category four, with the rest classified at levels between the two. Molloy, formerly of Willow Street, Oswestry, in Shropshire, will return to the court for sentencing today.
