Runcorn Sexual Abuser
In October 2007, a mother from Warrington issued a stark warning to parents about the dangers facing their children. Her daughter, a 14-year-old girl who cannot be publicly named for legal reasons, was deceived and coerced into having sex by Sean Mills, a 20-year-old resident of Runcorn, on August 8.
The mother expressed her concerns, stating, "As a parent you want to give your children more freedom and responsibility when they become teenagers, but people need to know these kinds of people are preying on young girls."
According to her account, the girl and a friend told their parents they were staying at each other's houses, but in reality, they were meeting with Mills and a friend, whom they had met weeks earlier. The two men bought alcohol for the girls and smoked cannabis in a park.
The situation escalated when Mills threatened to leave the girls after the girl's friend fell and broke her collarbone on an embankment. The mother explained, "He said he would leave the girls if she didn’t have sex with him. She initially refused, but did it because she was terrified."
Mills, who was already serving a suspended sentence at the time of the incident, was sentenced to two years and four months in jail at Chester Crown Court on September 21. He was also mandated to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for seven years.
