SEAN JOHNSON SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS IN PRISON IN WIGAN FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A man named Sean Johnson has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term following a thorough investigation by Greater Manchester Police officers.Johnson, born on May 10, 1990, and residing on Roundhouse Avenue in Wigan, was sentenced on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Bolton Crown Court to 16 years and 6 months in prison with an additional five-year supervision license.
Johnson was convicted on 27 counts, including 16 counts of sexual activity with a child, six counts of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, two counts of assault of a child under 13, and one count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
During the case, the court heard that Johnson repeatedly exploited the child and forced them to participate in sexual acts with him.
Alongside these convictions, Johnson had earlier pleaded guilty to a section 18 wounding charge in an unrelated incident.
That incident involved Johnson attacking a man in a Wigan pub in July 2022, leaving the victim with serious and life-altering injuries.
The sentencing was the result of meticulous work by Greater Manchester Police detectives and officers, whose dedication was vital in securing Johnson's conviction.
As a result, Johnson is now removed from the streets, safely behind bars, and away from potential victims.
The sentencing breakdown includes 14 years for the sexual offences, with an additional two and a half years for the assault.
