August 2015 Paedophile who sexually assaulted child and took indecent photographs is jailed A paedophile from Maidenhead who sexually assaulted a child and took indecent photographs has been jailed for seven years and eight months. Sean Douglas, of Moffy Hill, was jailed at Reading Crown Court yesterday after admitting the sexual assault of a child under 13, taking indecent photographs of a child, making indecent photographs of a child and possession of indecent photographs of a child. The 46-year-old had pleaded guilty to the charges at the same court two days earlier. The offences took place in Maidenhead in February and Douglas was charged in April following an investigation by Thames Valley Police. He received a prison sentence of three years and four months for the sexual assault, and four years and four months for the other offences, to run consecutively. Det Sgt Andy Ward, from Thames Valley Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “Thames Valley Police welcomes the sentence given yesterday. I hope that it helps to provide some closure to the victims involved. I would like to thank the victims and their families for their bravery and support during the police investigation. “I would also like to thank the officers who assisted, in cooperation with members of the public, to locate and arrest the defendant when he failed to answer bail and was actively avoiding detection.”
