DUNFERMLINE TEENAGER SEAN ADAM FOUND GUILTY OF VOYEURISM AT CARNEGIE LEISURE CENTRE
A teenager from Dunfermline, Sean Adam, has been convicted of voyeurism after being caught peering over a changing room cubicle at a woman at Carnegie Leisure Centre.The 18-year-old was observed looking down at the woman after she had taken off her swimsuit.
The woman was alarmed by his behavior and called him a 'creep,' prompting Adam to apologize immediately.
She then alerted her partner, who confronted Adam, causing him to hide inside a locked cubicle out of fear.
During the incident, Adam later requested to exit through a back door, fearing the main entrance.
It was revealed in court that Adam had watched the woman in a state of undress from an adjoining cubicle.
Despite claiming he was simply trying to 'drip-dry' by standing on a bench, Sheriff Charles MacNair dismissed his explanation as uncredible.
The victim described her shock at noticing Adam's eyes on her while she was unclothed.
After the incident, she hurriedly dressed and sought assistance from her partner and staff at the leisure centre, which eventually led to police involvement.
Graham Smith, the duty manager, testified that Adam repeatedly expressed remorse even before he was informed of the allegations.
Following the trial, Sheriff MacNair sentenced Adam to a two-year community payback order with supervision and ordered him to be placed on the sex offenders register for the same period, stating, 'I do not believe your version of events.'
