KINGSTEIGNTON MAN JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER KNIFEPOINT RAPE AND THREATS
A man from Kingsteignton, Scott Wilson, has been sentenced to life imprisonment after committing a severe sexual assault.Wilson, aged 26, was convicted of raping a woman at knifepoint in her own home during the night.
The incident occurred in March 2016 in Honiton, where Wilson deceived his victim by pretending to be injured and needing first aid, then gaining entry into her property.
Once inside, he threatened her repeatedly, including threatening to kill her, and subjected her to a two-hour ordeal that included two counts of rape and a threatening attack with a knife.
Wilson also threatened to kill the victim and made her his sex slave, which caused significant trauma.
The victim managed to escape after Wilson's threats and sought help from a neighbor, who heard her screams.
Wilson has a criminal history, having served a seven-year sentence for stabbing a Royal Marine with a craft knife prior to this offense.
He was held in custody and was ultimately jailed for life by Judge Geoffrey Mercer, QC, at Exeter Crown Court, with a minimum term of six years and three months.
The judge described Wilson as a dangerous individual, emphasizing the gravity of the offenses, including the sustained nature of the attack, threats, violence, and the fact he thought about the attack in advance.
Wilson admitted to two counts of rape, possession of a knife, and the personal possession of amphetamine and cannabis.
His defense argued that he did not plan the attack and is struggling internally with his actions, and that his risk could be managed with medication and psychological treatment in prison.
