Married man Scott Mansell claimed he had no sexual interest in children but looked at indecent pictures of kids as young as two being sexual abused by adults The 54-year-old, whose wife is standing by him, lost his job of almost 30 years at the Department for Work and Pensions after police caught him with more than 400 indecent images. The sex offender confessed he had explicit photographs of children on his Twitter account when police turned up at his Black Country home in the early hours of the morning in August 2020 Officers seized a tablet, mobile phone and laptop, prosecutor Simon Rippon told Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday (May 17). They later discovered a collection of 439 images and videos on his devices. Mansell admitted to police he had accessed the horrendous content. Mr Rippon said: “He said he used his Twitter account for pornography. They have all been closed down but he mentioned his last one. “He had conversations with like-minded Twitter users and shared indecent images of children. He said he had no sexual interest in children.” Sentencing, Judge Michael Chambers QC handed Mansell, of Beech Court, Red Hill, Oldswinford, a 24-month community order. He said: “I hope you now appreciate the seriousness of this offending.
