February 2017 Wrestling group members who groomed Bedfordshire girl online escape jail TWO men who were members of the same wrestling group have been spared jail after grooming a very young girl online. Scott Dickins, 26, from Claverley Green, Luton had arranged to meet the girl – who was under 13 – three times and once set off to meet her after grooming her online. Luton Crown Court also heard Philip Page, 28, from Brooklands Road, Bletchley had sent the youngster sexually explicit messages. Police launched an investigation in 2015 after it was reported to officers that the pair had been sending inappropriate messages to a young girl from Bedfordshire. Officers discovered that Page had begun messaging the girl in 2014 via Facebook, grooming her online over a period of time and sending her sexually explicit messages – despite knowing that she was aged under 13. Dickins began messaging the same girl in 2015, building a rapport with her with the intention of meeting up with her and sexually abusing her. Dickins pleaded guilty to three counts of attempting to arrange to meet a child following sexual grooming and one count of travelling with the intention of meeting a child following sexual grooming. He received an eight month sentence suspended for two years. Page pleaded guilty to one count of inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity. He received a 12 month sentence also suspended for two years.
