SCOTT BUTLER OF WIDNES SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES INVOLVING KNICKERS AND ONLINE ABUSE IN LIVERPOOL AND GREATER MANCHESTER
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Scott Butler, a 33-year-old resident of Widnes, was found guilty of multiple offences related to the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.The case, which unfolded over several years, revealed a pattern of depraved behavior involving the possession and distribution of indecent images, as well as online conversations with individuals he believed to be minors.
Butler's criminal activities came to light after police investigations uncovered his disturbing online interactions and the possession of illicit photographs.
The police initially arrested him at his home on Green Lane, Widnes, on October 17, 2019.
During this raid, officers seized his Apple iPhone SE and Lenovo laptop, which were later subjected to forensic analysis.
Butler was taken into custody on suspicion of unspecified offences and subsequently released under investigation after giving a no-comment interview.
Further investigations revealed that Butler had engaged in conversations on social media platforms, notably Kik Messenger, under the pseudonym
