A man from Crosshill, who caused a disturbance outside a location involving a young child and later sent inappropriate messages to his former partner, has received a sentence. Scott Brown, aged 41 and residing on Main Street, appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court. He pleaded guilty to shouting and swearing at his home on September 30, in front of a six-year-old child. Additionally, he admitted to sending text messages between December 10 and 11 on Clunie Road, Dunfermline, which contained swearing, derogatory comments, and threats of violence directed at his ex-partner. Sheriff Charles Macnair commented on the case, saying: ‘You behaved in the most appalling manner in the presence of the child. You then sent texts including threats of violence and other messages which were of a disgraceful sort.’ As a result, Brown was sentenced to a community payback order with 18 months of supervision, a four-month restriction of liberty order, and a one-year non-harassment order.
